<p>AST SpaceMobile is looking to hire an engineer with experience in full-stack development who will help develop our software and infrastructure to support Ground Software and Mission Operations. Given this, a successful candidate for this position will have familiarity with Software Design Principals and some familiarity with Operations Development.&nbsp; The candidate will be an integral member of the Ground Software Team, which is responsible for the software used to assist in communication and control of our satellites. The candidate will have a large amount of latitude in terms of how they choose to develop systems, so they must be a self-starter and willing to lead efforts to develop new systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities: </strong></p>

AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Summary:
AST SpaceMobile is looking to hire an engineer with experience in full-stack development who will help develop our software and infrastructure to support Ground Software and Mission Operations. Given this, a successful candidate for this position will have familiarity with Software Design Principals and some familiarity with Operations Development.&nbsp; The candidate will be an integral member of the Ground Software Team, which is responsible for the software used to assist in communication and control of our satellites. The candidate will have a large amount of latitude in terms of how they choose to develop systems, so they must be a self-starter and willing to lead efforts to develop new systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Duties and Responsibilities: 
Design and implement software applications in support of mission operations for constellation-based satellites
Design, implement and maintain a network infrastructure in support of ground to satellite communication systems
Debug and troubleshoot any software bugs identified in network or full-stack software
Collaborate across various sub-systems and address any pain-points through ground software applications focusing on automation.
&nbsp;
Technical Requirements:
At least 3-5 years in a software/application development position
Must have at least one year of space experience
Experience in both front-end and back-end development
Strong software engineering experience
Familiarity with version control systems
Familiarity with networking concepts and Fundamentals
Experience with programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python, Go, or other programming languages
Experience with frameworks such as:

NodeJS, FastAPI, NestJS, Fiber
Express, OpenAPI, Swagger, TypeORM
Angular, Vue, React
Flutter, Swift, Android Studio
Experience with concurrent (multithreaded) programming practices and libraries
Experience with containerization such as Docker
Comfortable working on different operating systems such as Linux and Windows depending on the task.
Experience using both relational and non-relational databases
Familiarity using cloud providers (specifically AWS)
Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder

About the role
We’re looking for a senior backend engineer to join the Channels and Platform team at Buffer. You will play a key role in building our public API and creating a future plug-in ecosystem that would elevate Buffer into a platform other developers can build on top of, providing creators the next generation of tools for writing, editing, and managing content.
We’re looking for someone with first-hand experience designing, implementing, and maintaining public APIs and/or extensibility platforms, who enjoys going deep — designing data models, shaping APIs, improving performance, and helping our systems scale with clarity and confidence. You’ll work closely with product, design, and mobile + web engineers to bring ideas to life and keep the user experience smooth and resilient.
We work iteratively and in tight feedback loops, balancing thoughtful engineering with steady momentum. In addition to building a new platform, you’ll help us strengthen our internal systems, making them faster, more scalable, and better equipped to power content creation at scale.
