Staff Backend Engineer
📋 Description
- Architect, build, and evolve backend APIs, services, and event-driven workflows for millions of
- Own complex backend work from discovery to maintenance and rollout.
- Lead ambiguous initiatives by breaking problems into manageable parts and making tradeoffs.
- Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and operability of production systems.
- Debug production issues across apps, databases, caches, and queues.
- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Infrastructure, Platform, Data, Support, and others to
🎯 Requirements
- Strong Node expertise with production backend systems.
- Staff level backend depth in APIs, distributed systems, or shared capabilities.
- Proficiency with Node, TypeScript, Elixir, Ruby/Rails, Java, Go, Python, or similar.
- Strong SQL and relational database judgment (indexing, migrations, tuning).
- Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architectures, queues, caching, and
- Experience with deployments, containers, CI/CD, cloud services, networking basics.
