Front End Developer (Wordpress)
We’re seeking a Front-End Developer who excels in WordPress theme development and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) integration. You’ll turn design mockups, wireframes, and briefs into pixel-perfect, high-performing websites that are optimized for speed and conversions.
This is a production-focused role — ideal for a developer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and takes pride in clean, scalable code.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and launch 2+ custom WordPress sites per day using pre-built frameworks and internal templates.
- Develop and manage custom themes, ACF field groups, and reusable components to ensure flexible content management.
- Convert Figma or Adobe XD designs into responsive, SEO-friendly, and conversion-optimized pages.
- Implement and maintain website features, including:
- Custom post types, custom taxonomies, and plugins
- Custom REST API endpoints for integrations
- Troubleshoot and debug website issues across multiple environments.
- Implement performance optimizations (Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, caching, etc.) for all builds.
- Collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, and marketing managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Occasionally create small websites without a provided design, working from a short creative or functional brief.
- Manage and configure website hosting environments (AWS, Lightsail, Cloudways), including DNS and basic server-side setup.
- Maintain clean, modular, and well-documented code across all projects.
- 2+ years of front-end WordPress development experience.
- Proficiency in:
- HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (jQuery familiarity a plus)
- WordPress theme and plugin development
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and custom post types
- Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and page speed optimization.
- Experience with REST APIs, custom endpoints, and plugin customization.
- Familiarity with website hosting platforms (AWS, Lightsail, Cloudways), DNS management, and server configurations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing WordPress sites for performance and reliability.
- Experience using Git, Figma, and modern build tools (Webpack, Gulp, or similar).
- Comfortable working in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
- Experience with Elementor, WPBakery, or similar page builders (though we prefer custom development).
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and landing page design best practices.
- Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and SEO fundamentals.
- Experience collaborating with performance marketing teams.
