As a Software Engineer (Backend), you’ll take end-to-end ownership of backend services that power our expenses product. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance systems that are secure, scalable, and easy to evolve.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design and implementation of backend services, writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Collaborate with your team in technical discussions, code reviews, and design sessions.
Build and maintain robust REST APIs following best practices in API development.
Support the reliability and scalability of our systems by writing thoughtful code and contributing to monitoring and observability.
Participate in Agile processes and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Who you are

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of professional software development experience.
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and object-oriented programming (OOP).
Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and working with modern backend technologies.
Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, etc.).
Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
Familiar with continuous integration practices and writing testable code.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Spring Boot or another modern backend framework.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes or similar.
Some familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk).
Interest or experience in the financial domain.
