Software Development Engineer
We are looking for experienced developers with strong technical skills and a keen desire to learn and use their expertise to support, develop and implement technical changes to the applications used by our core Lending Business.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and document software and configuration ensuring they adhere to development standards and meet requirements. You’ll be technically competent and experienced in applicable technologies and platforms.
  • Maintain systems by analysing programs to diagnose and resolve defects.
  • Participate in peer reviews of documentation, code, unit and integration testing.
  • Collaborate with architects and analysts to transform business requirements into technical change.
  • Perform impact analysis on requirements and designs.
  • Continually update technical knowledge and skills using internal training as well as taking time to self-develop utilizing external sources.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a support/delivery team, supporting and mentoring colleagues.
Requirements
  • You will have excellent knowledge and experience of one or more of the core technologies which form the Groups Lending landscape: JAVA, Cobol, C#, .NET, PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SOA.
  • Demonstrable experience within a modern software engineering role.
  • Excellent knowledge of software design patterns and software architectural patterns.
  • Experience of working within Financial Services.
  • Ability to interpret complex information to develop business outcomes and present back in an easy and simple manner.
  • Experience of working within IT support environments.
