Posting churn · how long jobs stay live

500dAug

Bars: postings that vanished that month. Labels: median days live before disappearing. Fast churn = hot market.

Buzzword decay · culture over hype

inclusive / collaborative / mentorshiprockstar / ninja / 10x

How this works

Pay disclosure counts postings that include any parsed salary; medians normalize hourly, daily and monthly figures to yearly and drop values that cannot be parsed with confidence.

Churn is measured by diffing live postings nightly - when a posting disappears, its full lifetime is recorded. Deleted postings leave no trace, so churn history starts when tracking began.

Buzzwords are counted per posting: rockstar/ninja/10x wording versus inclusive/collaborative language, as a share of all postings that month.

PTO numbers come from parsed time-off statements in posting text; weeks and months are converted to workdays, "unlimited PTO" is tracked separately so it can't skew the median.

Top paying companies are ranked from live postings over the last 90 days - medians need at least 3 disclosed salaries per company, so quiet posters stay out of the ranking. The list shifts as postings expire.
