Senior Java Developer

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience with object-oriented programming paradigms and SOLID principles using Java 21 (or higher) and common Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot)
• 1+ years of professional experience in biometric and identity management solutions, including fingerprint handling (tenprint and latent print), face identification, and face matching
• Proficiency in designing and developing REST APIs, integrations, and microservices using Spring MVC and related tools (e.g. Postman)
• Strong knowledge of functional and reactive programming approaches
• Experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server) using Spring Data and Hibernate
• Solid understanding of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency with messaging systems (ActiveMQ, Kafka)
• Experience with CI/CD systems (TFS/Azure DevOps) including pipeline setup and configuration
• Front-end web application development skills (Javascript, jQuery, JSP)
• Knowledge of JavaScript front-end frameworks (Vue.js, React, or Angular 2)
• Experience with Java Enterprise Integration Pattern (EIP) frameworks (Apache Camel or Spring Integration)
• Proficiency in Enterprise Integration methodologies and patterns, including modelling EIP systems using classical patterns and diagrams
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases, graph databases, and ElasticSearch
• Experience with biometric data manipulation, procedures, and standards (NIST file handling and generation, fingerprint identification, face recognition)
• Familiarity with development environments (Eclipse or IntelliJ), Maven, and Git with pull request workflows
• Strong teamwork and communication skills within Agile/Scrum teams

• (Desirable) Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies used in application development

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-grade, enterprise-level systems utilising messaging and microservices architectures
• Implement Java applications and microservices involving integration with search engines, writing backend code in a reliable, fast, scalable, and secure manner
• Develop OAuth authentication mechanisms and implement validation mechanisms through unit and integration tests
• Assist with system deployment and configuration, including setting up CI/CD pipelines
• Follow Scrum procedures and disciplines, and provide work estimates upon request
• Write technical documentation incorporating secure coding practices, logging, and auditing features
• Collaborate using Git following pull request procedures
• Ensure adherence to service level agreements and deliver code that meets functional requirements
• Write clean, secure, and high-quality code throughout all development activities
