Software Development Engineer III

Amex GBT is looking for a mid-senior level engineer to be part of their growing team of technologists. As a SDE III, you ll write software alongside a team of global engineers on projects that matter to customers and business travelers, and have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers.

What You ll Do

• Design and implement next-generation highly scalable, and reliable SaaS applications
• Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs
• Own delivery of application features end-to-end by working with product and engineering teams
• Innovate and implement new ideas to solve software problems and improve customer experience
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Work closely with geographically distributed team members
• Mentor, support and develop junior engineers
• Seek and share domain and industry knowledge with the team to improve engineering practices

What We re Looking For

• Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Strong understanding of distributed systems
• Building and delivering multi-tenant cloud-native SaaS software
• Passionate about collaboration and incorporating feedback from partners
• Communicates complex information in a concise and clear way to technical and non-technical partners

Core Skills and Knowledge Areas

• Front-end web technologies (JavaScript, Node, or React)
• Enterprise web applications (Java, Kotlin, or Spring) are big plus
• Object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
• SDLC and agile methodologies, and agile tools and programming practices
• CI-CD principles and technologies
• AWS services and building employment pipelines
