They’re looking for a senior backend engineer who takes ownership and enjoys operating at scale.

You’ll likely recognise yourself in most of the following:

• 5+ years commercial experience with Django & Django REST Framework

• Strong relational database experience (Postgres or MySQL) at scale

• Comfortable working with large datasets (100GB+)

• Confident designing APIs in close collaboration with frontend teams

• Pragmatic mindset – shipping value beats theoretical perfection

• Happy making product and technical decisions, not waiting for permission

You don’t need to tick every box perfectly. Strong fundamentals and good judgement matter most.

You’ll own backend features end to end, including:

• Designing and building new backend functionality

• Improving performance, latency, and scalability of existing endpoints

• Working closely with product and frontend teams on API design

• Monitoring production systems and iterating based on real usage

• Shipping changes frequently and safely

This is a role with real responsibility – from architecture and implementation through to observing how things behave in production.
