Remote Backend Jobs

I’m supporting a client who are hiring a Senior Django Backend Engineer to join a growing engineering team and help shape a high scale product used by millions. They’re looking for someone who enjoys ownership, moves quickly, and wants to work on a platform that ships multiple times a week. The role is fully remote across Europe with quarterly visits to their main office, which are fully reimbursed.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working across the full backend lifecycle. You’ll be involved in the architecture, building features, reviewing performance after releases, and making product decisions based on real usage. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver smooth user experiences and you’ll play a big role in improving and optimising existing endpoints to support continued growth.

The team are looking for someone with strong experience in Django and Django Rest Framework, ideally five years or more. You should be comfortable working with relational databases at scale, designing schemas, optimising complex queries and running migrations with minimal downtime. Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases larger than 100GB would be ideal. Any background delivering OpenAPI endpoints or documentation for frontend teams is also helpful.
