Senior Software Engineer

Terra is building the infrastructure and intelligence layer that powers the world’s health technology. Companies use Terra to connect, interpret, and act on human health data from all sensors, wearables and labs to build AI-driven experiences on top. We’re defining a new category at the intersection of health data, AI, and developer platforms.

We’re looking for a senior engineer to shape Terra’s evolution as both a product and a platform. You’ll work across ingestion, intelligence, and delivery systems, the backbone that powers billions of health data events monthly.

You’ll lead the scaling of a system already processing billions of events per month, bringing it to billions per day. You’ll make precise, surgical improvements that multiply reliability, speed, and developer adoption, and mentor engineers to build with the same focus.

What You’ll Do

• Scale and refine the core systems that transform raw health data into structured, intelligent streams.
• Identify and solve the most leveraged technical problems — where performance, accuracy, and product impact intersect.
• Build deep observability across ingestion → analysis → delivery so issues surface before customers ever see them.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate technical improvements into measurable customer outcomes.
• Develop internal tooling that accelerates experimentation, deployment, and debugging across teams.
• Mentor and guide engineers, raising the standard of technical judgment, clarity, and velocity.
• Evolve Terra’s architecture to support global scale and the next generation of AI-powered health features.

• Have 2–8 years building distributed systems, data platforms, or intelligent developer tools at scale.
• Have worked on or near systems where uptime, latency, and correctness directly drive customer value.
• Think in systems, how data flows, how information becomes intelligence, how architecture drives product growth.
• Prefer precision over process: observe → diagnose → act.
• Communicate clearly and lead by example.
• Enjoy mentoring and multiplying the output of those around you.
